04/02/2010 #FF — People I Like

So, I’m lacking in originality today in terms of a theme for this #FollowFriday. I just really like the people who I am featuring today. They are all great in their own rights, and I’m glad that I have gotten to know them through Twitter. You should get to know them, too.

Karen Schaffer (@jobofyourlife)

Karen has more of a “quiet presence” on Twitter that feels Zen-like to me (which is a good thing with how fast-paced it can get on there!) The thoughts and questions that she posts are to the point, but give you a moment’s pause as you contemplate them and see how they can fit in with your job search or career management plan. Here’s just a few examples of her tweets:

If you aren’t engaged in your career path, who else is going to be?

There is never any guarantee of anything…but feeling passionate, engaged & confident is a pretty good start #career-wise

What is the attribute most needed for a successful career transition? Persistence. #career #jobsearch

Good stuff from Karen!

Jason Alba (@jasonalba)

Jason Alba

The first word that comes to mind when I think of Jason is “generous.”

He has been extremely generous with The Job Quest in his contributions to some of the giveaways we’ve done.

He’s also very generous with JibberJobber, the management tool I’ve talked a lot about here that allows you to organize virtually all aspects of your job search. At the regular membership, Jason provides this tool for FREE. So what are you waiting for? Take advantage of this generosity and go sign up for JibberJobber now! (And don’t forget to follow Jason, too!) :)

Ronnie Ann (@WorkCoachCafe)

Ronnie Ann

Ronnie Ann always delivers interesting tweets on thought-provoking topics. Recently, she had tweeted about a post she wrote in reflection to an article that talked about a possible future use of brain scans instead of interviews. Now that’s the kind of stuff that makes you think…

She’s also warm and affirming, offering words of encouragement to those around her. Truly a great person to follow!

#FollowFriday happens every week here at The Job Quest. To learn about other wonderful folks who are follow-worthy every week, visit the #FollowFriday archives, and start following some amazing people!

Oh Melissa! Thank you so much for the kind words and for putting me in such good company. I’m just getting over the flu and still feeling a little punk, but this perked me up. I’m a big fan of you, your site, and your generous tweets. Maybe even a little bigger now. ;-)

    Thanks again! See you online…
