Inspiration is a vital part of looking for a job or figuring out which path to take when you are in the midst of a career change. Not only that, it can give you hope and just make you feel really good! If you are on Twitter, inspiration is available in great abundance. I happen to have a Twitter list of some wonderful folks who provide inspiration and words of wisdom daily with their tweets.
Today’s #FollowFriday is dedicated to people who provide much inspiration and who have inspired me:
Steve Keating (@LeadToday)
I profiled Steve in one of my posts a few months back because he is just so amazing at getting out the thank-yous to the 200+ folks who retweet him every day! He doesn’t ask for anything; he simply is there to enrich people’s lives with his insightful tweets. He inspires not only through his words, but in the way he gives of himself every day on Twitter. If you aren’t already following him, do so. You’ll be glad you did.
Gary is another person whose tweets are filled with words that uplift and encourage. He tweets a lot, but that’s not a bad thing! With all the traffic on Twitter, you will be sure to see at least a few of his inspirational thoughts throughout the day to give you food for thought and make you smile. I also like the fact that his tweets seem to have “themes,” so if you see one tweet on a particular topic that interests you, you can count on seeing more on that same topic. Gary is another great follow!
Phyllis is a career/business coach who is on my job search advice list on Twitter, but I definitely had to include her in this edition of the #FollowFriday here at The Job Quest because of a very special event that she has spearheaded — the #kindness party. The party was held this past Sunday afternoon, and I was fortunate enough to have heard about it a couple days in advance. When I logged on Sunday and saw some folks already sending out the tweets of kindness, I knew I wanted to join in! It was amazingly fun and so uplifting. Through sharing thoughts with other participants about being kind to one another, we built connections. Very inspiring, to say the least!
At the beginning of 2010, I wrote a four-part series summarizing a 31-day plan that Dave wrote to help people achieve their goals for the year. It’s a very useful tool, and I think that anyone who needs some guidance for getting the most out of a job search or forging a path to a new career would greatly benefit from reading every entry about this on his blog.
Dave also inspires me in my relationship with my husband. It’s common for him to sign off for the day to say that he is spending some time with his wife of 30+ years, whom he affectionately refers to as his “angel,” his “bride,” and other sweet terms. To speak with such love and to have such reverence of his life partner warms my heart and encourages me to continue to bring the same feelings into my home, even during the rough days.
Who inspires you?

I am truly honored to be recognized by you in your #FF inspiration blog. I was already following Dave, Phyllis & Steve and I am inspired by each of them daily. Thank you for sharing all of us with your readers. Please let me know how I can help. Create an excellent day.
Hi Gary!
Thanks for stopping by today and commenting. That right there is a help (because bloggers love comments!) Enjoy the rest of your day and weekend
Melissa – How can I have missed this article until now. Thank you so much for including me in this very inspiring group. I’m particularly delighted that you reached out and offered to co-host the 2011 #Kindness Party along with Dave Carpenter and others. What a great time we all had – and here’s to many more. Phyllis

Certainly, Phyllis! In the busyness of life, things can get lost in the shuffle, so no worries
And I agree that the 2011 #Kindness Party was a lot of fun that left me grinning from ear to ear for the rest of the day!
Thanks for everything you do,
Melissa
