The use of social media in job hunting is here to stay.

You may not yet be on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. Or, you may have accounts all over the Internet.

But are you using them to their full potential in your job hunt? Are they facilitating your ability to contribute and stay on the cutting edge of trends in your field?

Enter Phil Gerbyshak. In his own words, Phil is “energetic, engaging, inspiring, motivating, enthusiastic.” He also very knowledgeable about social media and very helpful in teaching others about it.

Having trouble keeping up with the many industry blogs that you frequent? Phil talks about the features of Google Reader and how that can help you (and he knows how well it works since he keeps up with 1,000+ blogs a day!)

Not sure if Twitter will really help you in your job search? Phil puts up a slide show by Meryl Evans that outlines how Twitter can work as a promotional tool. (Even though she approaches it from a business standpoint, the crossover to helping a person promote themselves is definitely there.) Pair this with his post on how you can effectively use Twitter in just 30 minutes a day, and you’ve got a solid foundation of information to get started on Twitter and effectively use it.

While not everything on Make it Great with Phil Gerbyshak will apply to your job search, a great deal of it will, either directly or as transferable knowledge.

Learning about social media with Phil will help you “make it great” with job hunting.
