In interviews, you may be asked something like, “Who was your worst boss, and why?”
It may be tempting to dish on the ineptness of a former boss, especially if your interviewer has made you feel comfortable.
Don’t do it! It will just make you look bad.
Diplomacy is always the better path in this situation. Instead of going off on a prior supervisor who may have been lacking in management skills, say something like, “I worked with supervisors of different backgrounds, and I learned something from each experience.”
When you think about it, that’s pretty much true, right? Even with the bad supervisors, you have learned what not to do.
